Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders

The Young Community Influencers (YCI) program is a transformative civic leadership initiative designed to equip  youth with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to be changemakers in their schools and communities. Through a unique blend of in-person experiences and virtual learning, YCI cultivates leadership, storytelling, public speaking, organizing, and policy awareness among youth ages 12–17.

What is YCI?

YCI is an initiative of the Voter Empowerment Collaborative (VEC) that nurtures a new generation of  leaders through:

  • Hands-on civic education

  • Engaging community-based activities

  • Team-building and leadership training

  • Digital storytelling and advocacy tools

Participants in YCI receive year-round support and opportunities to engage with peers, mentors, elected officials, and thought leaders who care about youth empowerment and social change

The youth are the hope of our future

Leadership & Team Building:

From public speaking and digital storytelling to rope courses and group projects, YCI strengthens confidence, collaboration, and leadership skills.
